Leo recently lost his job. On the outside, he seemed to be coping, but inside he felt lost and ashamed. He didn’t know how to ask for help, and everything felt like too much.

Netta was constantly arguing with her 14-year-old daughter. She was worried about her choices but was unable to get close enough to talk to her.

James had been feeling flat for months. Nothing was really “wrong,” but he couldn’t shake the sense that he was just going through the motions. His relationships and motivation were starting to suffer.

Rachel and her partner had been together for years, but lately their connection felt strained. They kept having the same arguments and drifting further apart. She wanted support to understand her needs and how to communicate them clearly.

Luca was 16 and feeling increasingly anxious at school. He didn’t know how to talk about the pressure he felt to succeed or the way his thoughts kept spiralling late at night. Counselling felt like a safe space to let some of it out.

Sally was navigating life after a painful divorce. Even though it had been over a year, she still found herself overwhelmed with grief, self-doubt, and loneliness.

Counselling is for everyone, because we all experience challenges at some point in our lives.

Whether it’s concerns about performance at work, mid-life anxiety, pressure from caring for ageing parents, worries about a loved one’s addiction, or navigating friendship or relationship breakdowns, it will be affecting your emotional wellbeing and quality of life. I’m a calm and dedicated counsellor based in the East Brisbane area, offering both online and in-person counselling sessions. Flexible appointment times are available during the day and after hours, and blocks of sessions are available for purchase at reduced rates.

Hello! I’m Deb.

I’m a counsellor, a calm presence, and a woman who’s lived many lives in one. My work is rooted in lived experience: I know what it means to grieve, to feel lost, to carry longing, and to rebuild. I’ve walked through the deep pain of childhood abandonment, the heartbreak of disconnection in relationships, the complexities of parenting, addiction, perfectionism, and caring for aging parents. These chapters of my life have shaped me into someone who can hold space with gentleness, depth, and genuine understanding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can support you through grief, anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, low self-worth, stress, or simply feeling stuck. It’s a space to make sense of what you’re going through.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward, counselling can help you gain clarity, calm, and confidence. You don’t need to have a crisis to benefit.

What happens in a counselling session?

We talk about what’s on your mind. This is a non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to express anything. You set the pace, and we explore patterns, emotions, and ways to move toward.

What is person-centred therapy?

I focus on what is going to work for you. No unrealistic goals or expectations. I support you through deep listening, empathy, and connection. I help you to reflect on and explore your issues and give you tools and guidance to discover ways to move forward that work for you. In other words, I don’t tell you what you should do, I help you discover for yourself what is going to work

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. What you share is confidential, except in rare situations where safety is at risk. I’ll explain this clearly at your first session.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to book an appointment or ask any questions.
